OMG - been after some of these for ages, extremely jealous

I would anticipate them to be similar in aggression level and size to the Northern Blues although I have no personal experience and do not know of anyone who has.

However, I do have a large group of Blues. These guys grow to around 5-6inches on average and can be hihgliy aggressive. They will occaisionally take chunks out of smaller fish (I do mean occasionally), they will also hunt and kill fish up to around 1inch so do not keep with juveniles. I have also found the blues to work best in a larger group that is male dominated, I currently have five adult males and two adult females in a 400litre tank and this has greatly reduced the agression amongst them.

Hope this helps a little and keep us updated, along with lots and lots of pics :good:

Wow, what a decision! The guy says he rarely gets them and they don't move(sell) fast; I am picking up an extra, free 55 USGallon today. Don't know what to do!! Thanks for the input. Anyone else have some? We need to find a super cheap way to ship overseas, I wouldn't mind trading with all of you if it was financially feasable, ya know?!!

I think it is best to treat them as Nads says as they are very similar to blues, the biggest thing is that they are piscavores but they also eat small inverts, so I would feed, frozen krill, prawn, brine shrimp etc. If you are feeding flake i would feed tetra min as that has a high fish base. Interesting that Nadine finds a high majority of males work best with her blues, this is somthing I am finding with lots of groups of fish.

BTW Nadine has been pestering me for about 6 years to get hold of some of these and I have tried all over the place( I have had some once but cannot remember where they went), so you have done well to get these. I am hoping now they they might be appearing on some euro lists, so keep fingers crossed Nadine

Perhaps I could ask the Fish Manager from whom he imported them from and pass that info along. Never kept northerns... but am strongly leaning toward getting them since they seem to be quite a find! Thanks for all the input!

Now that I think about it, they are too cheap to be wild, so most likely TB. That dealer always has some crazy fish available.
